At the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards, the ‘Essence’ star was named “Best African Act” (EMA). Tems, Ghanaian musician Amaarae, Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz, and South African hitmaker Focalistic, who were all nominated in the same category, were all defeated.
With another award in the Best African Act category, Wizkid has now become the most decorated African act at the MTV EMAs. The concert took place on Sunday, November 14th, 2021.
This is another another huge honor for the multi-award-winning Nigerian who is helping to make Afrobeats a global phenomenon.
