The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has come out to say the recommendations and conditions for Twitter ban will be applicable to every other social media platform across the country, Nigeria.
Following the lifting of Twitter ban, that was declared on Independence Day October 1 by the President of Nigeria.
The lifting of Twitter was said to regulate fake news and other illegal activities around Twitter users.
However, the regulations and conditions to lift Twitter has now emerged, embodied and will affect all other social media platforms in Nigeria.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has stated that the recommended conditions for the lifting Twitter ban in Nigeria will be applicable to all Over-The-Top and other social media platforms in the country. This he made known on Monday.
Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed said this information isn’t yet disclosed to the public as the undisclosed report from the team would be submitted to President Muhammadu Buhari before final approval.
He added, we can not today deal with Twitter regulations and tomorrow dealing with Facebook and next with Instagram.
“I want to say that we should wait for the committee to officially give its reports to the president but things are looking very positive and rosy. After submitting our reports and recommendations to the president, I will be disposed to say what we agreed and what have been met and what has not been met,” he said.
The best way to go about this according to Lai Mohammed is to tackle all ones and for all.
