Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), believes no one knows what the future holds for Nigeria or the 2023 elections.

He said this during the church’s November Thanksgiving ceremony on Sunday.

Adeboye questioned politicians who are already planning for the 2023 elections, emphasizing that the future is God’s.
The preacher questioned why someone would declare their ambition is to become president when they are uncertain about tomorrow or the country’s survival.

Adeboye said,

“This is 2021, some people are already getting ready to kill themselves over 2023. They don’t even know whether there will be 2023, they don’t even know whether they will still be around. There is nobody here who can say for sure that he will still be around by tomorrow. It is God who determines who will still be around by 2023.”

“Someone said to me, sir, who do you think will be president in 2023, I said the president of where? He said the president of Nigeria. How are you sure there will be Nigeria in 2023? How are you sure? Can you swear? I pray there will be Nigeria, so you don’t misquote me. But are you sure?”

He added.

Speaking on the topic of ‘Great Expectations,’ Adeboye expressed his hope that many members of his church would be present in heaven, and that a portion would be set aside for them.

“My greatest hope is that I will meet you in heaven,” he continued. The members of Redeemed will be assigned to a specific section, which the angel will tell you tried to fill. There is no Heaven without holiness. “Which Heaven do you intend to visit?”

Adeboye also prayed for people who are now trapped beneath the wreckage of the 21-story building that fell in Lagos State’s Ikoyi neighborhood last Monday, as well as for the bereaved. The 79-year-old preacher emphasized that having lost a family member has given him a better understanding of what it means to grieve.

“It is easy to say you will see the person again because I have tasted it. I have the experience,”

He added.
