Nigeria’s Super Eagles qualified for the 2022 World Cup play-offs by winning Group C in the qualifications on Tuesday, November 16.
The match against Cape Verde ended 1-1 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos. Napoli’s Victor Osimhen scored in the first minute, but the visitors equalized four minutes later when Ryan Mendes scored.
Nigeria, who finished first in Group C with 13 points, is the eighth country to qualify for the playoffs round, joining Senegal, Algeria, Egypt, Mali, Ghana, Morocco, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Tonight, they are anticipated to be joined by two additional countries. Only five African countries will be eligible to compete in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
