Gas leakage at Ikeja Lagos, residents are advised to evaluate the area around computer village and its axis.
Following a report of gas leakage at Ikeja Lagos State Capital. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) told residents around that area to evacuate the premises.
The gas leakage at Ikeja Lagos affected areas include some of the major busy areas in Ikeja such as Computer Village, Ikeja Underbridge end of Awolowo Way, Oba Akran axis, Anifowose Street, and Medical Road.
Ibrahim Farinloye, the spokesman for NEMA, asked residents to evacuate and avoid open fire or fire outbreak in the affected areas.
Farinloye has confirmed that the gas leakage has been brought under control.
Residents around Computer Village, Underbridge Awolowo Way, Oba Akran axis, Anifowose Street, Medical Road, must not open shops or use open naked fire for safety reasons,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
“Distressed alert just received indicates massive leakage of gas pipeline around these areas. Residents are advised to take safety precautions to prevent any form of disaster.” – Channels TV

Officials have continued to pass traffic around the affected areas.
