The first lady of Kano state Hafsat Ganduje has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Hafsat Ganduje the first lady of Kansas state has been arrested, allegedly based on a petition Abdulazeez, one of her sons, wrote against her.
Hafsat was accused of not refunding the money she collected from Abdulazeez for a portion of land sold to him.
He claimed that she took his money and didn’t comply with the agreement after which he later got to know that she had sold the land to someone else.
In his petition, Abdulazeez, the governor’s son, had said he was approached by a property developer to facilitate the acquisition of some plots of land in Kano with some hundreds of thousands of US dollars as commission. Daily tust
He said three months later, the property developer discovered that the plots of land he paid for had been allocated to other buyers and he requested a refund.
The governor’s son then said that the first lady refuses to pay back. That the other person who she sold the land to has fled out of the country and his number is switched off after filling the petition.
The son then reported to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) which invited her to their office but the first lady declined.
Due to her reluctance and not honouring their invitation, Ganduje’s wife was picked up by the EFCC.
That she will then have to face a massive amount of queries following her rejection of the invitation and also the allegations laid against her.
