A borno resident fraud APC of N70 Million, pretending to be Ize-Iyamu, last year Edo governorship candidate.
He has been taken to the Economic and Financial Crime Commision (EFCC) for playing on the All Progressive Congress.
The allegation is that the borno resident manipulated the All Progressive Congress and fooled them into sending him N70 million
The Borno Resident fraud APC, Tope Jimi Fagun, was then charged by the Borno State High Court with two-count of impersonation and false pretense on Wednesday.
Tope Jimi Fagun pretended to be the APC last year Edo governorship candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu while he requested 70 million from Ali Bukar Dalori the Borno state party chairman.
With the belief on how Tope presented himself, the official sent him the money hoping it’s Ize-Iyamu. The money which he received both in cash and bank transfers.
Despite the punishable offence committed, as the EFCC believes. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges but to remain in custody by Justice Aisha Kumaliya.
The judge adjourned the case till November 24, 2021 for hearing of bail application, and commencement of trial.
